Prepare:

• Rinse 1 cup of Basmati Rice in cold water to remove excess starch.

• Add 1.5 cups of water, one tablespoon of oil (optional), salt (optional) and boil.

• Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes or until water is absorbed.

• Remove from heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes.

• Fluff and serve. All basic cooking instructions can be changed to chicken, beef, or vegetable broth. Salt should not be added to the broth. More liquid will produce softer rice, and less liquid will result in firmer rice.
